Thank you message from SVDP

As we close out the turbulent year of 2020, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry would like to express our deep gratitude for the unwavering support of the Knights of Columbus.

Despite all the challenges presented this year, the Knights have continued their dedication to the mission of providing fresh fruits and vegetables to the pantry families.  This monthly donation is tremendous – literally hundreds of pounds of fresh produce, purchased, and just as importantly, delivered to the pantry! We are also so grateful for the additional produce in December. When you noticed that we were seeing record numbers of pantry visitors, you responded by generously offering more. This increased quantity allowed us to make sure that the ever-increasing number of families coming to the pantry, all have an opportunity to receive fresh produce. Providing families with nutritious fresh produce is important, and quite a blessing.

Earlier this year, as pantry volunteers scrambled to find new ways to continue to provide food to those in need during the Pandemic, the Knights reached out to assist.  When regular sources of food supplies disappeared, the Knights organized what can only be described as “an abundantly successful” food drive!  With hundreds of donors, and surplus food stored all over the St. Tim’s campus, the pantry was able to continue to feed families for several months.

From the big things to the little things, the Knights truly seek out opportunities to serve.  When I mentioned a pantry roof leak, the Knights quickly organized a team to assess and repair the problem.  Truly amazing!

Thank you, Gentlemen, for answering God’s call to serve.  Your humble and steadfast service is greatly valued, and sincerely appreciated, by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, and the many families that you help us feed.

As we move forward into the New Year with great hope, may God bless you all!
