St. Timothy Council 7369 kicked off its 2026-27 fraternal year a few days early with a June 16 installation of officers administered by State Advocate Anthony Hall.

Longtime Knight Kouassi Soman, who served as Deputy Grand Knight in 2025-26, has stepped up to be our Grand Knight for the fraternal year that began July 1 and ends June 30, 2027.
Kouassi’s wife Vickie attended the ceremony and placed a ribbon with his Grand Knight Medallion around his neck as part of the ceremony.
The oath of office was administered by State Advocate Anthony Hall to all the new officers.

2025 Seniors Thanksgiving Dinner

St. Timothy and St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic parishes held another successful joint Thanksgiving dinner for senior citizens on Nov. 23.

Around 140 people attended the dinner in the St. Timothy School cafeteria while another 80 meals were delivered to seniors living in the Forest Glen seniors complex in Sully Station by a team led by Bill and Melanie Cormier along with Franco Jose, Rob Scenna and several members of Scenna’s family.
Four meals were home delivered by Bob and Jane Venafro of St. Tim’s.
Another 20 meals were taken by people attending the meals for family members and neighbors who were unable to attend the dinner.
Four to-go boxes were dropped off at the St. Timothy rectory for the priests.

St. Timothy Pastor Father David Meng led the gathering in saying grace while St. Andrews Pastor Father Robert Wagner made a visit later in the event. Fathers Sunny Joseph of St. Timothy and Joseph Townsend of St. Andrew also dropped by.

Early prep work on the meal began three days earlier on Thursday night, lead by St. Timothy Past Grand Knight Mark Zuharanek, who serve as the lead chef for the dinner.

A half dozen volunteer Knights from both parishes and their spouses continued the early prep on Saturday.

A large number of brother Knights from both parishes dropped off cooked turkeys and pies on Sunday morning as their donations to the dinner.

Sunday’s kitchen work included carving each of the more than 20 donated turkeys.

Other volunteers made the salad and placed it into individual bowls.

The meal preparation spilled over into the cafeteria where the pies where sliced and placed on foam plates.

Donations for the free raffle included three gift certificates to Great American Restaurants from St. Timothy Knight Dave Morgan, 12 bottles of wine and 25 centerpieces of flowers. St. Andrews Grand Knight Kevin O’Connell called the winning tickets.

Many volunteers helped with the cleanup while Zuharanek delivered leftovers to a nearby fire stations.

The last task of the day was to strain the boiled turkey remnants into large containers for use as turkey stock. The turkey stock will frozen and used to make Brunswick stew that the St. Timothy Knights will sell on Superbowl Sunday in early February.

Installation of 2024-25 Officers

St. Timothy Knights of Columbus Council 7369 formally installed its new officers Sunday afternoon.

Father Christopher Hayes, our chaplain, blessed the jewels that each officer wears on a ribbon during business meetings.

State Advocate Ernie Pirro attended along with our District Deputy Rupert Harmon, a former Grand Knight of our council.

District Deputy Rupert Harmon spoke at the ceremony.

Our fraternal year began July 1 and runs through June 30, 2025.

We are very ably led this year by Grand Knight Victor Karl. Vic joined our council more than 10 years ago. He has been a regular fixture working in the school kitchen during our dinners and breakfasts. He also takes multiple shifts on our Christmas tree lot.

The installation ceremony was held in the church, with District Warden Christopher Gallagher administering the oath of office.

Financial Secretary Bill Cormier is serving a three-year term. He maintains our roster and collects our annual dues.

Easter Egg Hunt hops with fun

Our annual Easter Egg Hunt is held after the 12:30 Mass.

The Easter Bunny and a Minion made an appearance at the annual Easter Egg Hunt held behind St. Timothy School.

Parishioner Carol Anne Miller donned her bunny suit and Victoria Kirk, daughter of past grand knight Jim Kirk, wore a Minion outfit to the delight of the dozens of children who turned out for the stampede to find plastic eggs.

Grand Knight Anthony Estrada and Jason Hepler orchestrated the festivities along with several other helpers.

Candidates for leadership requested

Our nominating committee invites all interested Knights to contact us about the possibility of either holding an elected office, running one of our many parish programs, or serving as one of our 12 program directors.

The nominating committee will be offering its recommendations for the elected slate of officers at our May business meeting next Tuesday, May 7. The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. in the parish hall.

The May 7 meeting also will include a vote on electing Victor Karl to fill the vacancy of deputy grand knight through the June 30 end of our fraternal year. This upcoming vote was announced at our March and April business meetings.

Brother Knight Victor Karl was among the many Knights who were regulars in the school kitchen for our recent Lenten fish fry dinners.

The elected officers are grand knight, deputy grand knight, chancellor, treasurer, warden, advocate (parliamentarian), inside guard, outside guard (2), and trustee (three-year term). Two current trustees will continue to serve the remainder of their staggered three-year terms.

Our annual election of officers will be held at the June 4 business meeting for a term that begins July 1. The new officers will formulate a proposed budget and calendar of events in the coming weeks.

Appointed director positions include lecturer, programs, faith and church, community, pro-life, family, membership, retention, insurance, vocations, health, and public relations.

The new grand knight annually makes the appointments.

In addition, our council sponsors many programs that need program directors.

Many are one-day events such as the luminaries that we place around the church on Christmas Eve, our Easter Egg Hunt, the annual Mass in remembrance of deceased members held in November, and the annual senior citizens’ Thanksgiving dinner held on the Sunday before Thanksgiving.

Luminaries are placed around the church on Christmas Eve by our council every year.
