XI. REPORT OF AUDITORS AND TRUSTEES
1. Saturday Audit – Semiannual audit.
XII. CHANCELLOR’S REPORT ON VOCATIONS
1. Vocations – Only 6 new seminarians this year; transferring in? Unknown; announcements soon. Bishop holding the mass
for new seminarian candidates. 9 new priests were ordained this year; only 2 for the upcoming year; about 12 or 11 (probably)
for the year after that.
XIII. REPORT OF SERVICE PROGRAM COMMITTEES
1. Christmas Trees – Seeking surplus for our stock; question about 245 or 260 trees being requested. 282-230-245-165 (last
4-5 years #s.) Issues with running out total and/or types of trees. Consensus on ordering 260; better to have extras and
consistency than the inverse. Can always process extras as firewood; can also give to place(s) which will utilize them as
bedding.
XIV. OLD BUSINESS
1. Report on Membership – Another Email Blast: Only 67 unpaid left; 3 said they no longer want to be Knights. 15 of them owe
back pay. Ronald La Marche passed away on May 15th, 2022; was still paying his dues despite living in Wisconsin.
Walter has transferred councils; now in New Jersey. Bill will ask Ted to track down more people.
XV. NEW BUSINESS
Motion: To donate $300 from Account 7049 which has $1,000 for Donation Requests to the Fellowship of Catholic
University Students in support of parishioner Mary Yee at Mount St Mary’s College who is serving as FOCUS
representative.
Moved by: Brian Tumulty / Seconded by: Mark Z.
The motion was tabled.
1. Mary Yee –
Mary received $250 from our council last year.
In a recent email, she wrote:
“I just completed my first year of mission with FOCUS at Mount St. Mary’s. My first year was very fruitful and I couldn’t
have gone out on a mission if it weren’t for the Knights of Columbus! By walking closely with my students over this past
year, the Lord has been able to use me to bring the light of Christ to others, and to bring freedom and joy to them that
they never knew was possible. I’m grateful to be on a mission and point my students towards Christ, and also help them
build a life, not just for a while but for a lifetime, of service, love, and devotion to the Lord!”
The donation would not go directly to her.
The check would be sent to FOCUS, and then on the memo line you can write her name as well as her missionary ID #
which is: 47095.
You can mail it directly to FOCUS headquarters at:

2. Ice Cream Sunday – Back to school night BBQ this upcoming Monday; being asked to loan moon-bounce to event. Should
be cleaned; has not been used since pre-pandemic. Should we do an Ice Cream Social in conjunction? Bill indicates staying out other than moon-bounce. Brian indicates that in years past, we provided a grill (but not a griller) to the event. Should stay out of
event collaboration. Resolved by Antony that we will provide moon-bounce after cleaning.
3. Knight in Need – 1 or 2 knights helping clean out the home of a Knight in distress.
August 1, 2023 | 3
4. Father McGivney Mass – Cannot do on date and time planned; questions about the location and time. Antony will
investigate history and options. Must acquire priest. Ask Father Hayes about availability. Brian points out not set in stone
about doing exactly on feast day. Special Intention (Mass) should be asked for more than 6 months ahead; scheduled out
ahead of time. Question about timeslots; Antony resolves to contact Chaplin about the issue. Brian notes about the Deceased Members mass in November.
5. Jewels Missing/Damaged – Chaplin missing; Recorder needs replacement/fixing. Fix ribbon/clean jewels instead of
buying new ones where possible.
6. Avoiding Controversy: Custom Banner – Replace the older name with “St. Timothy Council” on the banner? 2 years back, got
a new tablecloth rather than replacing the banner. Can obfuscate old names in photos with positioning. Banner replacement
deferred. Council Flag MIA; needs replacement. The American Flag needs mending and repairs. Antony will seek resolution to
issues.
7. New Grill? – Antony needs to investigate getting a new grill. Been borrowing Father Meng’s grill; Jason said Charcoal Grill
over 900 dollars because of over $300 for shipping. Mark insists on the same/similar grill as we have; charcoal, industrial,
wheeled. Jason hunting for sale; appears that online is still cheaper than in-person, as they cost over 1000 dollars because
they are made of stainless steel. Dennis suggests a stopgap of putting sheet metal on the bottom of the grill; Jason says to use old Christmas tree signs.
XVI. DISTRICT DEPUTY’S REPORT
1. Report – Summarized: Good to be a Knight, prep for the supreme convention (August 1st). All things have a time. VA appears
to be doing well; keep it up. Many opportunities for Fraternal Knights.
XVII. GOOD OF THE ORDER
The Grand Knight asked if any brother present knew of a member of the council, or an unassisted brother of the Order, sick or in
distress. The following names were put forward and the council joined in a prayer for their well-being:
Michael Miller; has been sharing with Chuck; Chuck passed away Sunday Night in his mid-80s. Prayers are requested for both.
Michael Lynch
Wife of Bill having surgery; requesting prayers.
Grandson of Knight diagnosed with mouth cancer; prayers requested.
Mark asks for prayers for his sister Victoria; suspected of cancerous growths.
XVIII. The closing prayer was said by all.
XIX. Grand Knight Anthony Estrada declared the meeting adjourned at 8:53 pm.
Minutes recorded by Recorder Dominic Schaad.
